A term commonly used term by dermatologists to describe the process of aging is called photo-aging. Photo-aging occurs when the skin is directly exposed to the natural elements such as the sun and other environmentally polluted factor. A few minutes of exposure to the damaging UV rays of the sun without protection can hasten the process of photo-aging over the years. Skin aging however, varies depending on a person's skin color or their history of intense exposure to the sun. a fair-skinned person with a history of sun exposure will show more signs of skin aging compared to a dark-skinned person. Dark-skinned people usually manifest signs of skin aging through fine wrinkles or a spotted complexion.
